This bold chipotle bbq dry rub is spicy, a little smoky, a little sweet and delicious on chicken, beef and pork. It has an intense flavor from chipotle powder, smoked hot paprika, ancho chili, cumin and oregano and a hint of sweetness from brown sugar. Garlic and onion powder, salt and ginger balance the flavors.

Chipotle bbq dry rub in a bowl with a spoon.

Ingredients and notes:

The purpose of the ground ginger in this spice rub is to intensify the bold chili flavors. You won't be able to actually taste the ginger.

Ancho chili powder, smoked hot paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, ginger, cumin, oregano, chipotle powder and brown sugar.
