This chipotle lime seasoning is bright, fresh and has the great smoky spiciness that makes chipotle powder so unique. It's delicious on shrimp!

You need chipotle powder, onion powder, salt and the zest of 3 medium-sized limes for this recipe.
How to make it:

- Zest limes.
- Let the zest dry at room temperature (about 1 day).
- Add all seasoning ingredients to a mortar.
- Grind with a pestle.
How to use it:
This seasoning is excellent on grilled or fried shrimp!
- Pat shrimp dry using paper towels. Toss with vegetable oil and the seasoning.
- Grill or fry the shrimp.
- Serve the shrimp by themselves as an appetizer or with rice and this creamy paprika sauce for an incredible meal.
- The grilled shrimp are also delicious in shrimp tacos. I recommend to top them with this chipotle honey mayo!

Chipotle Lime Seasoning
Makes about 1 tablespoon of seasoning. I recommend to use about 1 tablespoon per 1 pound of shrimp.

- wax paper or parchment paper
- citrus zester
- paper towel
- measuring spoons
- mortar and pestle
Ingredients:
- 3 medium-sized fresh limes
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Thoroughly wash and dry, then zest the limes. Sprinkle the zest onto wax paper or parchment paper.
- Cover the zest loosely with a paper towel. Let sit at room temperature until completely dry (about 1 day).
- Add dried lime zest along with all remaining ingredients to a mortar and grind with a pestle.
Notes:
Storage instructions: If you're not using the seasoning right away, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place.
