Italian Dry Rub for Chicken

This Italian dry rub for chicken is made with herbs found in classic Italian seasoning along with garlic powder, salt and sumac. What makes the rub special is the sumac. It adds a citrusy umami flavor that works great with chicken and provides the needed contrast for the herbs. Without the sumac, the herb flavor would be overpowering.

Garlic powder, sumac, salt, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, oregano and basil.

What to use the dry rub on:

This dry rub is great on chicken breast, chicken thighs or any other cut of chicken (skinless and skin-on).

Cooked Italian chicken breast.
