This Italian rub for chicken is made with all the delicious herbs traditionally found in Italian seasoning along with garlic powder, salt and sumac! Sumac adds just a little bit of citrusy umami that goes great with chicken and also provides the perfect contrast to the herbs.

What’s in the rub?
This rub is made with Italian herbs (basil, oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary), garlic powder, salt and ground sumac. (For a chicken dry rub that’s centered on spices, rather than herbs, also check out this Mediterranean seasoning.)
How to make it:
Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until well combined.
How to store it:
Store the rub in an airtight container in a dark, cool and dry place.
How to use it:
You can use the rub on chicken breasts or any other cut of chicken. Lightly oil the meat, then generously add the rub. Grill, sear or bake the chicken as usual. The seasoned chicken is great on salads, sandwiches, pasta and more!

Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
