Jump to Recipe This cinnamon chili spice rub has great flavor from chili powder (chili peppers, cumin, oregano, garlic, salt), cinnamon and Hungarian paprika. The cinnamon flavor is subtle but unmistakable and turns this spice rub into something out of the ordinary.
Use it on roasted butternut squash or roasted poultry:
- This rub works great with vegetables that have a natural sweetness, such as butternut squash. Because there's no sugar in the rub itself, the sweet taste of the squash is perfectly balanced and doesn't become overpowering.
- The rub is also great for roasting chicken or turkey, especially chicken and turkey breast. (You can use it on skin-on and skinless cuts.)
Serving suggestion:
If you're using the rub on butternut squash, I recommend to serve the squash with steaks seasoned with this espresso steak rub. The combination of flavors is delicious!
