Sweet Chili Aioli

This quick and easy sweet chili aioli sauce has a wonderful, mild sweet and sour chili flavor. It makes a delicious dipping sauce for anything from chicken nuggets to cilantro lime meatballs to stuffed bacon-wrapped shrimp. You need mayonnaise, garlic, sweet chili sauce and rice vinegar to make it.

Ingredient notes:

Aioli was originally an emulsion of just olive oil and garlic. Over time, the definition of the sauce has broadened and it now includes flavored garlic mayonnaise sauces.

  • Sweet chili sauce is a sweet, sour and garlicky sauce that is sold in bottles in most grocery stores. It's made from chili peppers but, unlike hot sauce or Sriracha, it's mostly sweet and not very spicy at all.

What to serve it with:

This aioli is perfect as a dipping sauce for just about any savory party snack and finger food. Serve it with meatballs, coconut shrimp, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, sausage rolls and more!

  • knife and cutting board OR garlic press
  • bowl
  • whisk

Ingredients:
  

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 large garlic cloves, peeled and minced or pressed through a garlic press
  • 4 teaspoons sweet chili sauce (such as Mae Ploy)
  • ½ teaspoon unseasoned rice vinegar

Method:
 

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and whisk until combined.

Storage: Store this aioli in an airtight container in the fridge. Consume within 3 to 5 days.

    Just made this for a ham and cheese sandwich and it is delicious. What is the shelf life if in an airtight container and in the fridge?
