This sour cream dipping sauce is full of umami and tastes delicious with all types of chicken wings, traditional and breaded. It's flavored with hot sauce, Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder.

Recipe ingredients and notes:

  • I recommend Louisiana hot sauce for this recipe. It has great flavor and a nice tanginess that works great with chicken wings. The hot sauce also gives this dipping sauce a mild spiciness.
  • You can use freshly grated Parmesan cheese or the pre-grated, shelf-stable product. Both work great in this recipe.

  1. Add all ingredients except for the milk to a mixing bowl.

  1. Whisk until combined.

  1. Whisk in milk. (Add as much milk as needed to get the desired consistency.) Refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the flavors develop.

Equipment:

  • measuring cups and spoons
  • bowl
  • whisk

Ingredients:
  

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, (I recommend Louisiana hot sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese*
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 splash whole milk, to thin the sauce

Method:
 

  1. Add all ingredients except for the milk to a bowl and whisk until combined.
  2. Whisk in milk until you get the desired consistency. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the flavors develop. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Recipe notes:

*You can use freshly grated Parmesan cheese or the pre-grated, shelf-stable product. Either one works great.
Storage: Store this sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
