All-Purpose Ground Beef Seasoning

This all-purpose ground beef seasoning has delicious flavor from smoked hot paprika, chili powder, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Simply cook ground beef, then stir in the seasoning.

Recipe ingredients:

This seasoning mix has lots of umami, a subtle basil flavor and a nice smokiness from smoked hot paprika.

When to add the seasoning:

Cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink and starting to brown on the edges. Drain off excess fat and moisture (if desired), then stir in the seasoning.

How to use the seasoned ground beef:

Use the seasoned meat to make stuffed peppers, ground beef cream cheese dips, pasta sauces, burgers and more!

Ingredients:
  

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon smoked hot paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder*

Method:
 

  1. Stir all ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Store in an airtight container in the kitchen cabinet. It will keep for several months.

Recipe notes:

*Chili powder is a spice blend usually made from ground chili peppers, cumin, oregano, dried garlic and salt. It's widely available in spice shops and you can often choose between different levels of spiciness.
