Fennel Spice Rub

This gourmet fennel spice rub is made with ground fennel seeds, smoked hot paprika, onion powder and salt. The combination of fennel and paprika is delicious and makes this dry rub truly special. It's great on pork chops and vegetables, particularly carrots and potatoes.

Fennel Spice Rub

Makes about 5 ½ teaspoons, which is enough for 4 thick-cut boneless pork chops (with each chop weighing about 6 ½ ounces).

Equipment:

  • measuring spoons
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients:
  

  • 2 teaspoons ground fennel seeds
  • 2 teaspoons smoked hot paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:
 

  • Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place, such as the kitchen pantry. The rub will keep for at least 6 months.

Use this dry rub on pork chops or vegetables, like potatoes and carrots.
