Memorial day weekend is coming up and that means s’mores season is finally kicking off!

S’mores are one of America’s finest inventions, in my opinion. The combination of flavors and textures is wonderful and never gets old.

The one minor gripe I have with s’mores is their messiness. There is just about no way to eat them without bathing your hands, cheeks and chin in chocolate and marshmallow goo. How do you get around that? Very simple, you turn the s’mores into the trifles that I have here and eat them with a spoon.

What’s in s’mores trifles?

These s’morse trifles are made with marshmallow cream, Nutella, graham crackers, butter and spice.

Pumpkin spice s'mores trifles ingredients.
You need marshmallow cream, pumpkin spice, graham crackers, Nutella and unsalted butter for this recipe.

How to make the trifles:

The trifles are made up of 3 layers: crumbled graham crackers, Nutella and marshmallow cream. I got the idea for this recipe from this s’mores trifles recipe on My Baking Addiction, which features s’mores flavors along with fresh strawberries. For the recipe here I left out the strawberries and added the pumpkin spice because it works great with the hazelnutty chocolate.

Start with ⅓ cup crushed graham crackers (process about 2 and ¼ sheets in your food processor).

Next, mix 1 tablespoon melted, unsalted butter and ⅛ teaspoon pumpkin spice into the crackers.

To assemble the trifles, layer the graham crackers crumbles with Nutella* and marshmallow cream* into jars or ramekins. Torch each marshmallow cream layer with a kitchen torch.

*Use about ½ tablespoon of marshmallow cream and ½ tablespoon of Nutella for each layer.

Nicole you’ve done it!! Recipe wise and photo wise. YUM!!I’d much rather have this delicious dessert than one that includes burnt marshmallows in-between graham crackers and a piece of chocolate. I mean I can get messy as anyone at a picnic but this would be perfect ending at an al fresco setting. Love it!
